Falmouth and Camborne MP Julia Goldsworthy has praised the work of local emergency services, after they rescued a man and woman whose car plunged 75ft over cliffs at Pendennis Point in Falmouth.
The rescue operation was co-ordinated by Falmouth Coastguard and involved coastguards, ambulance, police, fire brigade and a cliff rescue team working together in extremely challenging conditions on the steep cliff-face.
The cause of the accident is unknown and investigations are underway.
Commenting, local MP Julia Goldsworthy added:
"Once again our local emergency services have shown immense skill and bravery in very challenging conditions. We are extremely fortunate to have such dedicated men and women working day-in day-out to protect our local community.
"Our thoughts are now with the people who have been rescued and their families. We wish them a speedy recovery.
