"FIRE COVER REPORT IS NOT THE WHOLE STORY" SAYS JULIA

Following news that a report indicating 24 hour whole time cover at Falmouth Fire Station could be withdrawn, Julia commented:
"I understand this paper has been produced as part of the wider review of fire service cover across the county, and was discussed at a members' enquiry day several weeks ago.
"No final recommendations have been made, and any decisions will be taken by the full council once the wider review is complete. It would prejudge the review and the council's decision-making process to assume that the options in this paper represent the final view of the council. The report is not the whole story by a long way.
"Only once the timetable, review and recommendations have been finalised will we have a clear picture of the options that the Council may need to consider. I have made my views clear in the past about the levels of fire cover required across the constituency and will be sure to do so again, if and when this becomes necessary."
