5.28.46pm GMT Mon 18th Dec 2006

Falmouth and Camborne MP Julia Goldsworthy has this week embraced the latest technology and filmed a short video which can be watched online.

Julia Goldsworthy filmed a two minute piece about the Sustainable Communities Bill which was posted on YouTube and her own website. The Sustainable Communities Bill - which is due for Second Reading in Parliament in the New Year - will be published tomorrow.

Commenting on her innovative use of technology Ms Goldsworthy said:

"I'm eager to communicate with my constituents and the wider public through any medium I can. Using a video clip online seemed a perfect means to promote the Sustainable Communities Bill in a new way. The internet has revolutionised our communities, making information accessible to all and giving a voice to everyone.

"It's important that all MPs take advantage of technologies like the internet to engage with those who might otherwise not take an interest in political issues. The internet is a great way to reach a broad and varied audience."

The video can be seen on Ms Goldsworthy's website at www.goldsworthy.prai.co.uk/pages/MPTV.html
