JULIA WELCOMES TRANSPORT FUNDING SUCCESS

6.10.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 23rd Jun 2008

Commenting on the news that CPR Regeneration has secured £34m of Government funding for road and transport improvements in Camborne-Redruth-Pool, Julia Goldsworthy MP said:

"It is welcome news that Camborne, Redruth and Pool has secured the funding to deliver important improvements in road infrastructure and public transport links . This is needed to ensure that the regeneration of the local area is successful. However, the precise location of the improvements is something that must, quite rightly, now be subject to normal planning procedure.

"Today's announcement is one component of the regeneration package for the area - there is still much work to be delivered on the ground before the regeneration process can be judged as to its success.
